Well I dont agree that its tribalism. Its rather religion. I know a religios girl and just because I said "Jesus was a cool guy" she started blabbering about how stupid I am and how do I dare saying that... Well it actually made her say crazy stuff. :)
Its not religions fault Ftcyp, its tribalism that causes the problem. When one tribe hates another, to maintain fear of that other amongst its own, it must generate fear. Rarely the masses understand the other tribes culture and especially religion, so its a great target for fear generation. Hence Islam is the cause of all evil in the world! Its bollocks but ignorant people are scared of these pesky Muslims!
Of course it is.
You just have to say: "Fuckin muslims, they all terrorist."
Might be interesting to see what happens when a new President takes office, or the next one. Personally, I don't think the U.S. is going to give up any more real estate. Right or wrong the U.S. has been wanting to have a presence in the mid-east for a while now...9-11 was a good excuse. I don't think the situation is going to change for a long time..the BIG picture ensures jobs here at home and that's just the way it is. You can call me crazy all you want...I don't care...I already know that. I've seen what this country does for many years now and my opinion of war hasn't changed their ideas one iota.
This is terrible!! I ate a brownie once, but I was only young.....
...There's even information about her cream fillings :\ and fudge coatings :S
Oh boy zeus, it gets worse, go here for little Debbie's honey buns, http://www.littledebbie.com/
You couldn't make this stuff up XD
I've eaten debbie cakes many times. If only other Debbies were so accommodating. But Pickepecker was way on the "little" chair thing: Once you've eaten debbie cakes enough, you aren't going to fit in any "little" chair.
You Brits may be out of luck - I don't know if debbie sells herself over there.
On this thread 2006-12-26 21:52:25 Picklepecker writes, "you can set there in your comfortable little chair eating debbie cakes". Who is this debbie cakes?? Are there any pics on lumra of her? Does she have a web site? Is she one of Sundins friend??? Never heard of debbie cakes, I'll have to google it.
The Arch Bishop of Canterbury has said that elements of Sharia law should be adopted in the UK. I say never. I have no problems with any British born Muslims, and the legitimate asylum seekers, but its OUR country and OUR laws. These stupid suggestions will create yet more fear and generate more support for the racist parties in the UK that are gaining popularity and acceptance. It would be interesting to know from Pythonpants, what law exists in Palestine and how does it mix with the different religions there.
New York City IS 9/11.....you want to know what New York thinks about Bush and the Republicans.
Governor of the state. Democrat
Senator Hillary Clinton
In the State Assembly, Democrats control 63 of the 64 districts of New York City.
The Mayor is a former Democrat, who switched to Republican, but whose policies and agendas are more in line with Democrat priorities than Republican.
For his Presidential bid, "America's Mayor" Rudy Giuliani, the "Hero" Mayor of 9/11, has little support from New York City. Seems the only people who think he's "all that" is the Neo/Con spin and propaganda machine.
You know them PicklePecker....the ones that implant your brain farts!
Point in fact. After an extensive poll was taken (by a conservative group, no less) of survivors of 9/11, and families of 9/11 victims, 70% had no confidence in Bush, and felt his "war on terror" was misguided, and had little to do with 9/11.
82% expressed extreme disappointment that even after 5 years, Bin Laden remains alive and uncaptured,...and seems to be of little, if any, interest to Bush or his administration.
68% think Bush USED 9/11 and it's vicitms and their families to acheive his agenda for war in Iraq, while actually having little care or concern for them at all.
Suprisingly (Not!) the conservative group that did the poll chose NOT to make it's results public.
Stop and think.....how often do you see 9/11 survivors or the families of it's victims stand up and publicly profess support of Bush and/or his policies and agendas?
There's a reason for that
Actually, I had a nuclear relative one block from 9-11. Who the fuck said you guys are speaking for america, the vicitms of 9-11, the troops, or even fucking freedom? When did you come to the conclusion that this is YOUR fucking country, exclusively, just because you'd suck GW Bush's dick if he told you it was to fight terrorism?
You want to know what's the #1 issue on the minds of the survivors of 9-11, you fucking fascist? The federal government acknowledging that the air quality following 9-11 was toxic and has contributed to debilitating health effects. Every 3rd person in n. manhattan has some breathing problem. The government doesn't want to fess up to it because it would cost money and expose the lies the gov't told to the people to get them back to work.
I don't hate the usa. I hate jackasses who think they are justified in doing anything to another person, such as you questioning my citizenship or rationalizing the mass-murder of millions of foreigners, just because you are afriad to admit to fallibility or responsibility.
I tell YOU what, why don't you take your UNamerican appreciation for freedom and form your own fucking country. If you didn't notice, you lost the election...you're on a strong course to lose the next one. You're hardly in any position to tell me I'm unamerican.
I support our troops exiting this bullshit "war". I don't support GW Bush's foreign policy, nor do I support all the chickenhawks like yourself who put our troops in harms way, and continue to, because of shitty foreign policy. If getting our boys killed based on lies is "supporting our troops", you can stick it up your ass, nazi. You should be apologizing because Bush's lies and your support for them has cost 3,000 young american lives. You should be looking for forgiveness.
Dookie you are truely unamerican and it shows through your writings. If you had family in the trade centers when they collapsed,i'm sure you would have different feelings. Oh yeah you can set there in your comfortable little chair eating debbie cakes, and tell everyone how bad americans are.I don't care for people like you in this world. I don't think you support our troops at all dookie. I believe there is a few more than just 12 men involved in the attacks. They had training camps all over the place there.Should we just let them continue to let them train more people to kill innocent civilians? Please leave my country if you don't support our troops.
Putting aside your complete dodge of the issues you had previously spoken about....
You may want to ask yourself honestly what terrorism is and where the actual threat of terrorism can occur. Terrorism doesn't come from Allah. Terrorism comes from having, in 9-11's case twenty men, a small group of people, or even just one, willing to go to any extreme to cause mayhem. We're not going to extinguish terrorism with military dominance, I hope you've come to that conclusion just by observing Iraq or Israel. In fact, military dominance is one of the causes of terrorism, it's what a weaker enemy or defender has to resort to. The Boston Tea Party is a classic example of terrorism, when you see it from the English perspective. It might help your perspective to imagine how we are creating enemies with our present foreign policy, not squelching the threat of terroism. Look to the example of pro-life bombers. They bomb abortion clinics not because they hate the US, they bomb abortion clinics because they feel they have no other effective recourse to something they view as intrinsicly evil.
Considering this administration's record for problem-solving, much less the truth...I'd have to say your faith in GW Bush's latest excuse after telling his 3rd or 4th lie for being in Iraq is very disturbing. I'm going to side with the majority in this country and the world that say you and your ilk are full of shit.
So, you would kill a man because someone told you that you would "sooner or later"? That sort of chickenhawk logic may be a greater engine for terroism than anything Mohammed preached.
Yes dookie,We are going to stop terrorism in the middle east First with Afganastan, and then moved to the center of the middle east Iraq. There was a strategic purpose for this position. Anyone else who opposses will be next. If that is Iran then they will be next. The middle east are all linked in tight, you could not simply stop with Afganastan.Yes i would kill the problem dookie.

For the young guys out there, I just want to re-emphasize how good of a make-out album Cat Stevens' Greatest Hits is. It's serious pussy-kryptonite.
As it says "elsewhere", even the Devil can quote scripture...
Qur'an:9:5 "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."
Qur'an:9:112 "The Believers fight in Allah's Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed."
Qur'an:9:29 "Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission."
Ishaq:325 "Muslims, fight in Allah's Cause. Stand firm and you will prosper. Help the Prophet, obey him, give him your allegiance, and your religion will be victorious."
Qur'an:8:39 "Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah."
The reason their "PR" is better than ours (that's a load of crap BTW), and the reason they see this as a holy war, and perceive us as attacking Islam is because the entire world saw us barely slap the country where the man who planned and delivered 9/11 and the majority of his terrorist group were based and hiding.....then saw us use the 9/11 attack as basis to attack Iraq and a leader, who, although a very bad man, had nothing to do with 9/11. Then they saw the other reasons used to attack Iraq, WMD's, the uranium, and the "direct connection between Saddam and 9/11" turn out to be wrong, "mistaken", (or lies), and saw the administration, using "the war on terror" as the main basis for the Iraq invasion, while at the same time, basically ignoring THE man responsable for the actual attack on 9/11.
Their "PR" isn't better than ours.....it's that they see all of our "PR" has been bullshit (much as the American people realized by Nov. 7th)....whether we (the Bush administration) were "mistaken" or outright lying doesn't matter,.....it looks like deliberate lies when we move heaven and earth to attack Iraq, and hunt down and capture Saddam, but do little or nothing to hunt down and capture THE man who was responsable for the deaths of over 3,000 Americans, in an attack on American soil, on 9/11
And now, the Iraqis and the rest of the world see more than twice as many Iraqi civilians dead from us "liberating" them than killed by Saddam (and maybe up to 3 or 4 times)....and believe me....only Americans aren't fully aware of the numbers of Iraqi civilian deaths from this war.....this info is "scrubbed" here, with "morale" as the excuse....but the Iraqis know, because they're seeing the horror of it first hand (kind of hard to miss when your family and friends are getting killed) and the rest of the world hasn't had the information "scrubbed" away like we have. How many "hearts and minds" are we going to win if 80% of the population has had a loved one killed (or several)
Don't get me wrong with this, I supported the war in Iraq, and will continue to support all the troops, Ms Zeus's cousin text'd us a Merry Christmas from the desert somewhere. I would like to see a more active policing of the world where necessary, but for the right reasons and the right terminologies used. The reason the 'battle of hearts and minds' has been lost is that Al Qaeda's PR guys are better than the USA and UK's. This war was to over throw Saddam because of what he is, not because he's a Muslim, but their PR have changed this into a Holy War. The way terrorist actions are reported and the way Islam is discussed must confirm this view in the eyes of disillusioned Muslims around the world. We're going to lose this war unless we get Muslim allies on side and involved. Even Turkey, a Nato ally, prevented troop movements through their country to the Iraq border, and in a recent poll, over half the country are now anti American and see Iraq as a war on Islam.
This isn't a war....it's a political strategy for more geo-political power and influence, with huge multi-billion dollar profits for party friendly corporations as a bonus.
"We invaded Iraq to prepare for Iran."?
Have you ever considered yourself gullible? There are a large number of gullible people. It's OK, but I wouldn't mind hearing the point at which you'd ever see yourslef saying you're being fed a pile of bullshit about Iraq. You got to admit, even if you believe this shit, that, how ever far away from from disbelieving it you were before, hearing that line moved you a little closer.
"It was going to happen sooner or later." Is THAT acceptable to you? You think congresss was going to vote to invade a country because it was "going to happen sooner or later"? Would you kill a man now because you thought you were going have to sooner or later, or would you need a better reason?
You don't think America is trying to do good? You don't think we are trying to stop the things that are going on over there? Don't you see the people want change there? We are there to help and stop the terrorism. If we don't change what happens there, and they do get weapons of mass destruction,You know what will happen next. Why do you think they keep trying to prevent Iran from getting nukes?War in the middle east was brewing up for years it was going to happen sooner or later.
If I WERE drafted, I wouldn't automatically go. I'd make a choice. I'm not fighting for any cause I don't believe in, that's how you empower a fascist government.
Believe me, I know a few figures. Even in the most deadly wars the US has participated in, the casualty percentage for soldiers was less than 10%, those are good odds. I'd have no problem, even as a "puss", facing those odds. The problem is fighting, and killing, for something I don't believe in. I'll never be a party to mass-murder, nor will I face those odds for bullshit reasons.
So if you was drafted for a war you would puss out and not go dookie?
If you can tell me how Vietnam was a fight for american freedom, your rationalazation for the condemnation of a great man would REMOTELY make sense. He certainly wasn't some milquetoast partisan, using his politics as his yardstick. It's pretty sick how fucked up with politics a person can be to shit on The Greatest.
I'd fight in WW 1&2 tomorrow, if tomorrow was 1940. The Preamble says "provide for the common defense", not police the remnants of western imperialism in the far east while providing another blank check for the military industrial complex at the expense of lower class americans' lives. Vietnam was bullshit. So is Iraq.
Muhammed Ali wants freedom but he didn't want to fight for it. He is a prime example of what a real american should not be. Elvis put on a uniform without question, now that was a real american. Dookie are you proud to be an american? Would you fight for the United States if you had to?
Muhammed Ali stood up to his government and said "I'm not going to fight in this bullshit war.", he didn't have the options of GWBush, Clinton, Cheney, and Reagan and most of congress. He paid a big price and stood his ground. If you don't know how lucky we are to have Ali as an example of freedom and self-determination, I can't help you.
Pickle, God only knows! (like the pun). I think they might be scientologists or something like that. They all were balck suits with a black name badge and gold writing. I never entertain them long enough to establish who they are representing, but they all have American accents...
Dookie, Muhammed ali "a great american" ? He's a draft dodger who didn't want to fight for our country during the Vietnam war. He threw his Olympic medal in the Ohio river. He should have been throwed out of America. As for your last question. Muslims would hate a guy like me ,i in return would hate them. And Zues why would Americans be in England shoving religion onto you?
P.S. I think the last line is interesting, "We need the solidarity and support of all people around the world." Will you support them Mark?
Here you go Mark, www.rawa.org. Muslim site, based in Afghanistan for anti-fundamentalists.
Couple of paragraphs from the site for you,
The US "War on terrorism" removed the Taliban regime in October 2001, but it has not removed religious fundamentalism which is the main cause of all our miseries. In fact, by reinstalling the warlords in power in Afghanistan, the US administration is replacing one fundamentalist regime with another. The US government and Mr.Karzai mostly rely on Northern Alliance criminal leaders who are as brutal and misogynist as the Taliban.
RAWA believes that freedom and democracy can’t be donated; it is the duty of the people of a country to fight and achieve these values. Under the US-supported government, the sworn enemies of human rights, democracy and secularism have gripped their claws over our country and attempt to restore their religious fascism on our people.
Well said dookie. As I keep comparing, the politicians categorise where they see opportunity. Irish troubles they print as Republicans and Unionist, not Catholics and protestants. I was 'caught up' in a situation once and the local papers printed a 2nd page story '200 football hooligans attack police'. Didn't even make the national press. 30-40 Asian lads through some stones at the police and the national press have 'Major race riots in Northern Mill towns' and then all the politicians get involved to analyse what went wrong, the attention gives more support to the right wing extremeists. The focus should be on the issues and facts, not based on religion...
Pat Boone, Pat Robertson, and Jesse Jackson come to mind immediately as christian douchebags. Jim and Tammy Faye. 90% of the mormons I know. What I hate is the pressure our elected representatives have to be christians. I'd like to see Israel run by Israelis and Palestinians, not jews and muslims. Theocracies need to get the fuck out of the government business.
Mark, and what about the Islamic groups apposed to all those things? Would you give them your support?
Pickle, I agree with you totally. We have Americans in suits asking me if I can find a place for religion and science in my life knocking on my door. Friendly enough, just rather they didn't bother me. Please don't get me wrong, I respect you're views, and most of your posts, I just get concerned about the blanket hatred of 1.5 billion people because of a minority of evil.
Zidane, Cat Stevens (Yosef Salaam), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Muhammed Ali (Cassius Clay).
I agree with you about religions, PP, but STFU about Muhammed Ali. He's a great american, you can only dream about being such a good man. He survived external influences from all sides: politics, religion, and racism. He's the fucking best heavywight fighter ever to-this-day, he worked hard for it. Who knows how far he could of gone if politics hadn't forced him out of boxing in his prime?
Cat Stevens: greatest hits just happens to be one of the top ten makeout albums ever made. His latest album is really good.
Kareem, invented the Sky Hook Shot. Still one of top-ten dunkers of all time. He does more charity work than jesus and he's a seven-foot-tall black belt in karate.
All four (I don't know zidane that well) of those guys are great. The question is do you hate them because they worship mohammed?
Oh yeah Zidane, the soccer player who head butted a guy in the championship game. What is sad zues is someone pushing their religion onto me. I have religious groups all the time come to my house wanting me to join them. Religion needs to stay out of my life,it is garbage.Muslims say "join islam or die" . Yeah i want to be a part of that cult.
The two at the top are Zinedine Zedane, footballer and Cat Stevens, aka Yousef Islam aka friend of America! Zidane has Muslim parents, and has kept his Islamic name, although he's married a Christian and has brought his children up as Christians, it is believed that he's retained his Islamic beliefs, so I've used a little 'reporters license' on that one. I was going to include every Muslim in Bosnia and Turkey, but the file would have been too big to upload. Its a little sad to hate individuals just for their religion don't you think?
Fuck muhammed ali, he shouldn't be allowed to live in America.I don't know who the two at the top of the picture are but i would probably hate them too.I used to like to watch kareem play basketball tho.
Whaaaa???? That second comment wasn't there when I posted my comment!!! TJP have you been enjoying a little too much Christmas spirit!!! :D

Tribalism is in all of us. You can stand shoulder to shoulder with a Turkish guy wearing an Arsenal shirt one week, hating Galatasaray, and the next week, want to batter the daylights out of the same guy because he's wearing some Turkish national rag. Nothing to do with hating the individual, its about being part of a tribe. Python and FtCyp are a few steps away from potentially killing one or the other in the name of free Palestine or Israeli defence. Nothing to do with religion, Pythons wants Palestine returned to the Palestinians. Under different circumstances they could both sit down and have a pint and a laugh together. Its all bollocks really, but I would think the vast majority of humans on this planet belong to one tribe or another.
