I'll add that the last 8 years have been a propagandist's dream, as well. The business of misinformation has been in very high demand since the reagan years (clinton included), but it's been out of control in the last 8.

Yeah, that could have been handled more formally. That's my fifth time deleting something. Handled clumsily, agreed.

You deleted the comment that inspired me to create this thread. I didn't want you to have to enter complaints directed towards me in someone else's thread. I also didn't want you to have to bite your tongue.

So far, the only thing you've said is that I should censor myself as a user. I'll let you in on a secret. I use profanity out of a mixture of laziness, frustration, and economy. It gets tiring refuting every single fallacy, half-truth, lie, mistake....blah,blah,blah I hear coming out of some people's comments. The multiple attempts at framing arguments. The projecting of the partisan paradigm. The propaganda. Fox news. Truthout.org. Drudge (blech).

While you complain that I don't answer this shit more formally and respectfully, in my opinion it doesn't deserve it and wouldn't appreciate it. We already have one FIB, and look at the respect he gets for detailed, extensively-cited arguments. I get insulted by republicans all the time. I get called some really shitty things. You don't see me crying.

Excuse me for being honest, but I almost always am. Partisan debate, for a democrat, has been a turkey shoot for the last 8 years. It's been a political comedian's dream. Unfortunately, it's been hard on political satirists because the truth has been too ironic to imitate. It's been a hollow smugness democratic debaters have enjoyed these last 8 years, because the idiots were still in power. A republican was left practically defenseless in a debate. We got to see most of your reaganite/neocon/fundie fallacies crash and burn like we predicted. There was little satisfaction in being correct because our country was being ruined to prove it. What you see as insulting smugness...may be the most appropriate, considerate response.

Words convey thoughts. Is it really my words, or my thoughts you take exception with and lay blame?

You entered a complaint against me as a moderator and the site. It was off-topic, but I wanted you to know this is your site, too. I created this thread because you're not the only one who's voiced complaints.

While I was responding to your complaint, you deleted your own comment. You made another comment apologizing for being off-topic.

I created this thread for you to complain about me or the site. I deleted the other comments (mine and yours, which I can't recover), sent you an email explaining, and left a comment for you to check your email.

You may have forgotten, but the main reason this site was created was to separate politics from snaps. In that sense, it's been a success. Considering the possibilities for resentment, I think I've done ok, but I'd like to hear how you think I could do better. The way I handled this was clumsy, but with good intentions.
